Whether you have a storefront or an internet-based service business, the first impression your logo makes matters! Having a brand design and logo variations for brand identity that stand out amongst the rest helps attract people to your business. This is especially true for wedding industry professionals. Couples are swimming in a sea of content and your brand needs to stand out in the “sea of sameness.” When your logo variations for brand identity attract the attention of newly engaged couples, that means they remember visiting your website, your socials or any other marketing piece, which eventually leads to their making your company their first choice!
In this blog post, we are going to discuss the four logo varieties that your brand needs to stand out!
Your primary logo is just as it sounds – it’s your “main” logo. And, your main logo includes the full name of your business within the design, as well as what your business does, or your niche as some put it.
Use your primary logo on websites, business cards, social media profiles, letterhead, branded merchandise, tradeshow materials, email signatures, and more. Your primary logo serves as the face of your brand portfolio. It usually features the logo image, your business name, and possibly your niche or tagline. Your primary logo will be the main face of your logo portfolio. And, this is the logo variety that will contain the logo image, the name of your business, and possibly include your niche or business tagline.
Your secondary logo lends itself to uses where you don’t want all the “extras” that come with your primary logo, but you still want that brand feel! Usually, the secondary logo will have either a slightly altered design or will just include the main part of your logo without any extra text within the logo image.
Use your secondary logo for digital marketing or in any space where you want your branding to appear without extra verbiage. Because most social media users focus on visuals, this logo variation works perfectly in designs where images take center stage.
Submark logos go even simpler than secondary logos. These logos are typically small icons or monograms using your business initials. Submark logos work well when you need branding in a limited space.
Add your submark design to website favicons and minimal branding spaces. Favicons are the little images within your website’s tab on the top of your website browser. Having a website favicon is a must as it gives your brand a sense of establishment. All of the large corporations use the submark designs for their favicons – why shouldn’t you?!
This logo variety is just as it sounds, it’s (of course) TEXT ONLY. There are so many places this can be utilized and it’s very helpful to have in your logo wheelhouse. The reason for this is, it keeps your branding clear without utilizing an actual image because it incorporates your brand font(s).
This kind of logo variety is best used in places like invoices, legal documentation or contracts. As mentioned above, it is a fantastic way to let your brand stand out without the use of an image logo. It lends itself well to various ad designs and social media image designs, too!
