It’s an excellent website platform choice for creative service providers. If you’re one of these types of business owners (or similar), it might be a great fit:
If you’re running a full e-commerce business, Showit is not a good fit for you. I typically recommend having your website fully on Shopify if you’re going to sell over 10 products and need to manage shipping. You can integrate both Shopify and Thrivecart with Showit, so that is an option for some businesses.
If your business or organization is a full publication or has a gigantic blog, I would probably recommend WordPress over Showit. You can still have the functionality of WordPress.
But, for that special niche of service providers who are growing, thriving, but not huge corporations, I love Showit and its WordPress blog.
This makes Showit a really strong option for wedding pros, photographers, agency owners, nutritionists, coaches, and more!

With the Showit WordPress blog, your blog design is actually built in Showit, so you have complete control over the design of your website. The drag and drop editor of Showit allows you to customize everything from font sizes and styling to colors, layout, and more. There are a lot of cool features you can add to your blog, such as featured posts, fun facts sections, client testimonials, and more.
You can also easily customize templates or create a website from scratch with their intuitive drag-and-drop interface. I’ve honestly never seen a blog as beautiful as a blog that’s built using Showit’s WordPress blog!
The Showit WordPress blog is super customizable on mobile, which I love. You can control the specific settings of the mobile design on the Showit side of your website (see my tutorial above for some more details on this).
Want to hide a certain section, like only have the search bar on desktop? You can do that. Want your blog titles to look different on mobile? You can do that. For the most part, the world is really your oyster when it comes to the Showit WordPress blog.
Even if you have no experience with website design, Showit WordPress blog is easy to use and navigate. Given it’s a WordPress blog, I find that many of my clients have blogged in WordPress before, so there’s either no or very little learning curve for posting and editing blog posts.
For help getting to know the blog, you can watch my tutorial, check out Showit’s extensive library of resources, or even message Showit’s U.S.-based team in their help chat!
On top of that, if you lay out your blog strategically, the design will also be user-friendly for your website visitors.
Showit’s WordPress blog is designed with search engine optimization in mind, making it easier for your website to rank higher in search engine results.
I say this, but I’m going to bust a myth for you: being on Showit is not going to guarantee that you’ll show up on the first page of Google. Neither is being on WordPress, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow, or any other platform. There are ways to optimize very platform, but you’re not destined for failure or success with any platform. For some tips on how to optimize your website for SEO (on any platform), check out this blog post on 10 tips to optimize your SEO. This was written with wedding photographers in mind, but the tips work for any creative service provider.
One thing that I always set up for our clients is the Yoast SEO plug-in, because it makes it easier for you to optimize your blog posts in WordPress. You can watch my YouTube tutorial on that for some more details!
Showit was actually built for photographers, and has expanded to being a good fit for a number of creative service providers, from wedding planners to marketing agencies.
For photographers, wedding planners, and other wedding business owners, the Showit WordPress blog is a great way to feature your work in each blog post you write. Here’s an example of how a past wedding planner client of ours has done it. It’s possible to make your galleries very stunning with the gallery features!
Showit’s customer service is one of my favorite things about using the platform for both myself and my service provider clients. My personal favorite Showit team member is Parker, but they’re all great and so helpful!
The main Showit site and Showit WordPress blog offers excellent customer support (through the Showit side of your website), with a team of experts available to answer any questions and help you troubleshoot any issues. They even have an emergency support page if your website goes down, which is very rare when it comes to Showit sites.
If you are comparing Showit to WordPress, most of these pros of the Showit WordPress blog will apply to WordPress too.
However, one reason that I love Showit more than WordPress for most service provider clients is that there’s a whole team behind Showit working to keep your website secure. Their team performs regular updates and maintenance to keep your website safe from hacking and other security threats. Showit adds an SSL certificate to your website for you, and you don’t have to worry about making updates behind the scenes to keep your site up and secure.
In addition, Showit uses WordPress Secure Hosting to help make sure your site is secure. If you want more information about what that entails, you can read their breakdown here. One of the key benefits of having a site with Showit is that if your site is hacked (super unlikely), their team will clean and assist with resolving the issue at no extra charge.
Side note: your expenses with a standard Showit site and WordPress blog are your monthly Showit subscription and your domain host fee. Domain hosts include sites like GoDaddy, Bluehost, and Namecheap.
Showit WordPress blog servers are optimized for fast loading times, ensuring that your website loads quickly and efficiently. There are still steps you can take to speed up your site, such as optimizing your website photos and not bogging it down with embedded videos. If you’re extra concerned about your blog’s loading speed, you can even install WordPress plug-ins to help with that.
Showit’s WordPress blog is scalable, meaning that your blog can grow as your business and resources do. Some of my clients have WordPress blogs that are 10+ years old, and it’s still easy to find their content in the back-end.
An extra perk of the Showit WordPress blog? If you decide that you’re tired of Showit and want to transfer your whole website to WordPress, it’s possible. And, it’s a more feasible process to transfer your blogs to a standard WordPress site versus to a site such as Wix.
The search and commenting functions of a WordPress blog allow you to engage with your community in a high-touch way. You can provide an excellent experience for your blog readers, and get creative on how you drive them to take action. Whether it’s sending them to contact you or download a free guide, all of these things are possible through Showit and the WordPress blog.
WordPress blog is an exceptional choice. It’s designed to blend the power of Showit’s visual design capabilities with the robust functionality of WordPress. That’s a win-win for your business.
When you choose to run your blog through the Showit WordPress blog, you’re not just building a website. You’re crafting a digital experience for your potential clients that expresses the high value of you and your work. Beyond your social media, this is a place where your audience can experience your tone, personality, and expertise.
